SUBJECT: Next Meeting, August 15, 2007 is canceled and assorted information
Good Morning:
The Board provided strong support to the Committee efforts in developing the Stakeholder Issues within the DRGR. See (http://www.lee-county.com/dcd/ComprehensivePlanning/SELeeCounty.htm). Such strong support that my life is in danger from the Department of Community Development (DCD) director. (That is a jocularity…..I think.) However, then they handed us (SG/DCD/others) a short deadline to develop some ideas. I will not have those done by Wednesday for your review.
Damon Romanello cannot make Wednesday’s meeting, so the “12 ways to reinvent downtowns” (and its derivations, which we—the Committee and staff—would develop as guidelines to push our mixed use projects, as appropriate, in the new Comprehensive Plan overlay) is postponed another month.
Consequently, the August meeting is cancelled, and the next meeting will be in September 2007. I may be however, checking with you for a date change, but still please reserve the 3rd Wednesday in September as the regular date.
Also to be considered for September, would be a proposal for the Charter Committee Review (See http://www.leegov.com/charterreview/) on municipal service districts and annexation agreements.
